Himalayan Shea Scrub | Zephyr

If you love scrubs but don't like the oil slick on top and all the scrubby on the bottom, this salt scrub solves that problem.

Rain Organica's whipped body mousse (shea, tamanu, and argan oil whipped in teeny tiny batches until light and fluffy) is blended with Himalayan pink salt to create a solid salt scrub that keeps the scrub with the butter.

Zephyr is a blend of Bulgarian lavender, cypress, and cedarwood paired with other essential oils to round out this blend. What's it smell like? A crisp autumn day under a robin's egg blue sky and quaking golden aspen leaves as the breeze carries the scent of the cedar forest and late blooming lavender.

NOTE: This scrub's solid at room temp, but if it happens to get hot during shipment, you may have to mix before using the first time to get that scrubby consistency throughout.

Origin Story

Cold pressed tamanu, a deep green oil, is loaded with anti-inflammatory compounds. It's revered in its native lands (Africa, India, and Australia) for anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties and is commonly used to soothe and heal.

Like tamanu, shea and argan both have a long history of use in skincare and both of these also have anti-inflammatory and skin soothing properties.

How to Use

Massage a small amount onto your skin before stepping into the shower. Great for rough heels and elbows. Avoid applying to freshly shaved skin or raw skin. And, take care to wash your tub/shower thoroughly after use to avoid slipping.

Origin Story

Cold pressed tamanu, a deep green oil, contains between 10% and 20% resins, which are anti-inflammatory compounds that settle readily out of the oil.  Tamanu is so rich in resins that when room temperature drops much below 70, the entire oil solidifies.

Tamanu is revered in its native lands (Africa, India, and Australia) for its anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties, due largely to the resins.

Because tamanu is so nearly solid at room temperature and because the solids tend to settle regardless of temperature, keeping those resinous solids suspended lended well to a body butter.
