You can also get your omega-3 fatty acids from vegan sources. Some of the vegan foods with the best omega-3 to omega-6 ratio are: collard greens (Southerners are cheering), spinach, walnuts, chia seeds, kidney beans, mango, and papaya.
Research has shown that when women increase their intake of essential fatty acids, their skin is more supple, springy, and holds moisture better than those who lack adequate amounts of fat in their diet.
And, since all of us need more omega-3’s (or at least a better ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 in our diet), including these foods listed above (fatty fish or vegetarian list) along with oils that have high ratios of omega-3 to omega-6, such as hemp seed oil, flaxseed oil, and walnut oil, not only has the potential to improve our health, but also to improve our skin’s appearance, and who doesn’t want that?

In the US, sweet potatoes are typically enjoyed around the holidays, but the vitamins and nutrients they contain warrant a second look. Sweet potatoes, oranges, carrots, and spinach, are chock-full of beta-carotene; a substance which your body converts into vitamin A.
